Meri Ma, Hamari Ma

It was Mother’s day yesterday. Although many feel its the West practice that’s gradually setting in the East, I kind of like this concept, least to say, only Mother’s day.

‘Mother’ is the most wonderful aspect in this creation, I believe. The warmth of Mother’s love, Her smile, lying on Her lap, hugging Her like never before, are all, I feel the most soulful and pure. As it’s rightly said – Mother’s love is the purest of all relations in this world. I am reminded of the story of monkeys my Mother taught me in my childhood- Mother’s love has no equal. It’s now that I begin to understand the depth of it. 🙂

This post is about my both Mothers. Meri Ma, the Mother who gave me birth and nurtured me in my childhood, and  Hamari Ma, the universal Mother, the all pervasive Mother who has been nurturing all of us across multiple lifetimes. 🙂

We learn our first lessons of love and forgiveness from our Mother. For a child, the Mother is his world. And so, it is for a Mother. She sows the seed, protecting and nurturing it, until it becomes a tree.

I am so glad and thankful to the Almighty to have given me both Mothers in this lifetime. My Mother, in whom I first experienced the infinite love, and a manifestation of the Divine Love, and Amma, the Universal Mother, whose life is blessing for us and Her boundless compassion to take birth as a human being guiding us along the way.

I love you both. It is because of Mother alone that this world sustains. I dedicate this song.. to you…

‘You raise me up…to more than I can be’ 😉 🙂
